Hand-dyed merino bouclé yarn, DK weight boucle yarn hand dyed in Berlin, Germany. Beautifully fluffy for fashion knitwear and accessories. 

Jonna Hietala from Laine Magazine and Veera Välimäki create beautiful knitting patterns with this yarn, and some patterns are or will be available in my BKD Yarn Shop, but you can substitute any DK pattern with the BKD Merino Bouclé for adding the fashion look. 

NEEDLES: Knit on 5-6mm knitting needles, or go for bigger ones, for that modern, airy look. All wool can be knitted on all needles. The choice is yours, but take time to check your gauge. This is essential.

COLORS: All colors are dyed by me in layers to give them shade and depth using a special method I developed in my home studio in Berlin. Each skein of hand-dyed yarn is unique, it is hardly possible to replicate the process fully, even when established and repetitive.

STABILITY: I dye with professional colors that I mix to a certain ratio for a particular tone, fade, or nuance in my studio. These colors are proven and stable over a longer period, even after washing. However, be aware that all colored garments, even the industrial ones, fade with time, so some changes are expected, depending on how you care for your garment and how often you wear it.

BLEEDING: I wash my yarn extensively to avoid bleeding, but know it may bleed slightly after the first washings until the color is fully exhausted.

CARE: This yarn is specially treated for machine washing. However, all wool wears and tears with every washing and loses its shine and texture. Therefore, I hand wash my knitted garments with a sprinkle of the wool washer. Generally, wool does not require extensive washing as the smell does not hold on to the wool fiber. Therefore it is enough to wash it as little as possible, once a year or less, and to air it after every wearing. Just place it on a balcony, in the garden, or any place with natural airflow and let it air for a while.
